This past weekend, I attended Spoon University’s Brainfood, festival-conference hybrid.
For those of you who do not know… I’m a huge food enthusiast!I run a food account on instagram @epicure.nyc with my husband. At @epicure.nyc we share photos of places we have wined and dined at with our family and friends. Out and about on dates like fun New York City bars to events we have attended.
One of my favorite things about being a foodie, is discovering what the chefs are creating world wide. Now through social media it is so accessible to connect and find out this delicious information. You can get informed about what is new in your area of interest, which for me are many areas. Making it easy to get the new in “Who, What, Where’s” of food. When I get the opportunity, one of my go to for finding something what’s up and coming are food festivals and conferences.
By attending these festivals and conferences, I have the opportunity to mingle with fellow foodies, learn a thing or two from the pros speaking.
The Brainfood Food Festival and Conference had a great panel of speakers with amazing and interesting subjects. Unfortunately I missed Alton Brown, who spoke about the “Future of Food Media”!
I did however attend the panel “How to Build and Maintain a Meaningful Brand in Food Media”, led by the super fun Instagram star Skyler Bouchard, @nycdining. The panel discussed the importance of engaging with their followers and what keeps them motivated to keep creating content that appeals to their audience but also keeps them true to their “brand”.
A lot of the vendors who attended I am familiar with and it was great to enjoy their treats. In the gallery bellow I am sharing some of my favorite vendors at the #BrainFoodNYC conference, so check them out!
